The association « Le Bastidon de Lucie »

The association « Le Bastidon de Lucie » was created in April 2000. The main purpose of Lou Bastidou holiday resort in Cuers in Provence, is to offer a fully accessible holiday destination for families and groups who are affected directly or indirectly by disability.

This project was thought after the birth of Lucie, a motor-impaired child in the QUARTA family. Holidays with Lucie and her two sisters quickly became impossible: there were few accessible facilities and no leisure activities for disabled children.

To overcome and change this situation, QUARTA couple with their Board of Directors, initiated the Lou Bastidou project. The idea was to put the disabled person at the heart of the project, to design a place where every member of the family could relax.

The concept:

– a holiday resort, open for everyone and fully accessible to disabled people

– leisure activities for siblings to give parents a break during the day

The association’s philosophy

Since Lou Bastidou opened its doors in 2004, our guiding principle has been to welcome families and groups affected by disability in the best possible conditions.

Breaking out of isolation and opening up to all, to create links and change the way people look at disability. The cottage and the Residence are designed to provide privacy for everyone.

Common areas such as the reception, the swimming pool and the village square encourage people to get together. The entertainment and activities on offer provide an opportunity to share moments of conviviality and exchange.

Our joy and philosophy remain the same since the beginning, which is to welcome holidaymakers with their own particularities and to share a moment of life with them by helping them discover our wonderful region.
